Jesse has put together a collection of some of his songs recorded in his Halcottsville basement. No, its not a studio production!! It was done for fun and the recording obviously leaves plenty to be desired. The CD is not available for purchase, but all songs are protected by copywright so don't think about stealing the words.

Passing By the Accident Passing by the accident was a lady in a car, a kid learning to whistle and a man with a big cigar, A doctor in a hurry to make it home by four, the lady who lives down the block and her boyfriend from next door, the gent who owns the five and ten, a bird with a broken wing, a boy going home with a brand new dog, a pauper and a king, a blind man with a silver cane, a priest all dressed in white, a man who kills for mercy, and on who kills for spite, the cars were backed up cross the nation, people came and went, just to get a better look at the accident.

Everybody Loves A Clown 1. Lady Jane, she needs you very bad, She makes you happy when you're sad. Her embrace would mean the world to you, But with all her loves she couldn't love you too, and you're a clown Chorus: You just think of lady Jane, she picks you up when you're down She doesn't love you, Don't let it break your heart Every body loves a clown 2. In the circus people come and stare, They laugh at you and the funny clothes you wear. All the laughing crowds outside don't know, Underneath your makeup you cry so, and you're a clown Repeat Chorus 3. Now the circus soon will close for good, And you wonder if she understood. Did she want you like you wanted her? Or did she think that all the time you were, Only a clown Repeat Chorus

A Mystery 1..Well I've been thinkin bout mysteries for a long long time like pickin fleas off a dog in the everlovin month of June, And June soon becomes July, are you confused? Well so am I, watch the butter fly to the man up in the moon. 2. I went to Holy Trinity and the nuns there said "A Mystery is something you are never ever gonna find". With words like omnipotency and transubstantiation, gee I think I almost nearly lost my mind. Chorus: But why, why , can't I open up your heart to see and like the pyramids and the Resurrection, Immaculate Conception, you'll always be a mystery to me. 3. I remember Sister Ernestine, she had a face that was in between an iceberg and a bottle of muscatel, and I'd like to watch that rosary hang down around black hosiery though an impure thought could get you time in hell. 4. Now the day I met you I was drunk, you fell into my life.....kerplunk, well I just turned around and you were there, I never realized you had such class but you certainly had a beautiful mind underneath that beautiful head of hair. 5. We made love in the mezzanine and I would think of Ernestine sayin , Oh my God if she could see us now. I'd say sister dear how can this be and she'd say "Its a mystery, deny it and you turn into a cow"!! 6. No bolts of lightning struck me there I got no warts in my underwear and I never felt like breaking into a bank, but I got you and you got me, that in itself's a mystery so maybe it's Ernestine we ought to thank. Yes you'll always be a mystery like the Holy Ghost and the Trinity, you'll always be a mystery to me.

Telephone 1. Now when I was young and foolish still, my back was strong, much like my will I'd swim an ocean, climb the highest hill, to love her. I'd let my feelings be my guide, forgot my friends and ran to hide with her so I would be beside no other. Chorus: Telephone on the wall, you never ring at all, your number's dissconected like this heart inside of me, Why must you always be my company? 2. The letters I get they're brief and rare, but coming from my lady fair, I could not wait to climb the stair to read it. It said "I'm writing just to say goodbye, I've left for good, so don't reply. I know your love was there, but I don't need it." Repeat Chorus 3. For many days I'd sit alone just waiting for that telephone to ring and say she's coming home to chose me. And now that life, some of us lead, in fairy tales and hero's deeds, knocks at my door and then proceeds to lose me. Repeat Chorus

Cool River 1. The sky is showing her tears, the wind is starting to blow, cool river on your waters we will row. 2. The clouds have hidden the sun, the fat horizon's unclear, cool river is there something we don't hear? 3. And every man with a line, and every fool with a gun, cool river in your pocket he will run. 4. And on your breast fell our blood, and in your heart was our name, cool river are we living in this shame? 5. And when the mountains are gone and when the trumpet has blown, cool river you will carry me back home, cool river you will carry me back home.

You For Granted 1.I always take you for granted, I'm always breaking your heart. I have no excuse, can't deny, what's the use, I always mess up what I start. And I know that it's easy to hurt you and I know just how quickly you break, when the going gets tough and I've been through enough, you for granted is what I will take. Chorus: So many men are unwilling to bend and they watch as the moment goes by And too many dreams fall apart at the seams for the sake of a little white lie. 2. I suppose its not easy to love me, and I guess I don't give you a clue, but through the tumbling tide I'll remain by your side, I'll be there just to keep loving you. Sometimes I don't know what I'm doing and I don't realize what's at stake, And at moments like this, with a hug and a kiss, you for granted is what I will take. Repeat chorus 3. Yes I always take you for granted, you can make of it what you will make. But when things get me down, I turn into the clown, You for granted is what I will take, You for granted is what I will take.

The Battle's Over 1. To walk alone in any land, to never hear the children cry, To take your brother by the hand, and once again to see the sky, To watch the breeze in summer fly, to see the winter and the snow, to feel the warmth of lovers eyes and see each season come and go. To wake up in an empty dream where someone's standing in the sun, and lifted both his arms and screamed in tears, the battle's over, the war is won. 2. You turn your sleepy eyes to dawn and can't believe the silent tomb, a voice inside you answers "yes", but no one's talking in the room. You throw the curtains to the ground, in vain you realize no one's there. How real it seemed you often think. And now the atmosphere is bare. Where positively,so it seemed, someone was standing in the sun and lifted both his arms and screamed in tears, the battle's over, the war is won. 3. As if some magic watching hand has moved the pieces into place, the citizens turn in their souls and pay the fee to run the race. You try to turn yourself to run but someone says "not yet my friend, you cannot leave until you've killed, you cannot go until the end. The only answer is a dream where someone standing in the sun has lifted both his arms and screams in tears, the battle's over, the war is won.

Don't Blame Me 1. I can't help it if I love you, I had never planned to fall, and the song that played above you was the writing on the wall. Chorus: Blame it on the eyes that never could believe you, blame it on the things they never thought they'ed see, Blame it on the arms that never would have held you, blame it on the way I change, but don't blame me. 2. I can see you in the mirror, hear you whisper in my ear, and I wish that you were nearer and I wish that you were here. Repeat Chorus 3. All the raindrops on the window, they are whispering your name. I can't help it if I love you, can't you see I'm not to blame? Repeat chorus

All My Children 1.These are all my children, some asleep and some awake, as they stand upon the crossroads of whatever road they take. These are all my children, I have sadly watched them grow, I've seen them walk away from me, I've seen them come and go. Chorus: And I look through the eyes of one who could not be free unless I see the setting sun drop down over a sea of love. In between the dreams and scemes we have ambitions of, the children stand alone. 2.These are all my childrenI have touched them with my hands, I have felt them looking into me when noone understands. These are all my children, with their apathy and hate, and I even have to love them when they've seen the light too late. Repeat chorus 3. These are all my children, I have watched them win and loose, I have laughed whn they have laughed and cried with every bruise. These are all my children, I will be here when they call, I will let them go a thousand times and help them when they fall. Repeat chorus
